Juvéderm Voluma is a smooth injectable gel that is made from hyaluronic acid (HA). HA assists in skin hydration by attracting and holding water. It also combines with collagen and elastin to help provide skin structure and elasticity.
How is it different than the other Juvéderm® products? Voluma® is thicker, lasts longer and is uniquely formulated to add volume to the cheek.
Juvéderm Voluma is for the restoration of lost facial volume. It is injected in cheek area to give you lift and a more youthful appearance.
This is a quick procedure with no down-time. You will have a topical anesthetic applied for 30 minutes prior to the procedure. The procedure itself will only take 15-20 minutes.
Volume rejuvenation with Juvéderm Voluma gives instant results! You may have some mild redness and swelling, but that typically resolves in 24-48 hours. Bruising is possible but it is also temporary and resolves quickly and can easily covered with makeup.
Studies show that this volume enhancer will typically last 18 months to 2 years.
The most common side effects are injection site redness and swelling, pain/ tenderness, firmness, lumps/bumps, bruising. These effects are generally temporary; however they may last up to a week. If you have a longer lasting nodule, the product can be dissolved.
