Fraxel re:pair

How does it work?

This is an ablative treatment, which means some skin and tissue are removed. The re: pair uses a high-intensity carbon dioxide (CO2) laser to vaporize unwanted tissue.

With this new fractional technology you should achieve dramatic results in a single treatment with a quicker recovery time. The re: pair treatment uses thousands of microscopic laser columns to penetrate deep into the skin and remove old, damage skin cells. This stimulates your own healing process and the rebuilding of collagen.

What is the treatment like?

You will have a free consult visit prior to the treatment where the physician and nurse will go over all necessary skin preparations. You will also be given prescriptions to bring with you the day of the procedure. On the day of your treatment you should arrive 1 ½ hours prior to the procedure. You will have photographs taken for your chart and topical anesthetic applied. You will also be given oral medication to decrease any discomfort. In addition, you will be given a shot to decrease any potential discomfort. The physicians will also use an injectable form of anesthesia. We want you to be as comfortable as possible throughout the procedure.

What can be achieved with the re: pair?

  • Smooth skin tone and texture
  • Tighten wrinkled and saggy skin
  • Soften deep frown lines and wrinkles
  • Improve age spots, sunspots and sun-induced redness

What should I expect after the treatment?

Every patient is different and depending upon the aggressiveness of your treatment there may be some pinpoint bleeding or oozing the first 48 hours. Healing is remarkably fast because of this new fractional technology. We carefully go over all instructions with you to be sure you understand all instructions to ensure the best post procedural outcome. You should plan to take at least a week off from your normal activities.

Are there any side effects?

The most common side effects are redness and swelling. The swelling typically resolves in ten to fourteen days but the redness can take longer. It can easily be covered after the first week with make-up as you continue to heal and improve. There is also a limited risk of infection, hyperpigmentation (dark spots), or scarring. We will provide you with a list of everything you need to do post procedure to reduce any chance of an adverse reaction. We are committed to providing you with best post care and optimal results.

What precautions should I take after the treatment?

You should wear a sunscreen of SPF 30 or higher, avoid direct sunlight for three months after your last treatment, and wear a wide brimmed hat when you are in the sun.

How long do the results last?

The positive results of the re: pair are both immediate and progressive. Soon after your treatment, the surface of your skin will feel softer, look brighter and show a more even skin tone. And over three to six months, you’ll get more results as the deeper layers of skin continue to heal.
